Release deeply held stress patterns in the brain and body ¹

I'm Nick Hansinger, aka The Mystic Next Door. I've spent over two decades immersed in energy healing and personal development.
In a "previous life" I spent over 25 years as a professional freelance musician playing everything from the great orchestral works of Beethoven and Mozart to jazz and popular music.
My goal with Mystic Sound Healing™ is to bring this experience in performing, writing, and arranging music to the sacred art of Sound Healing so you can experience rich, immersive, and expertly guided sessions that help you rest, restore, and find your center every time.
It was something I never expected. An ancient practice that I stumbled across in a rickety shop in the foothills of the Himalayas.
In the early 2000s at the tail end of my first trip to India… One afternoon, we got a guide to take us into the small town near the spa. In the crowded streets I bumped into someone and when I went to excuse myself, I saw that it was a cow. I felt a little silly talking to a cow, to be honest, but no one seemed to notice.
Our guide took us to a dim and dusty shop that was stacked floor to ceiling with singing bowls and other exotic instruments...

This is the bowl I bought that day.

Magic.
Sound healing is an ancient practice scientifically proven to release stress patterns and ease you into a state of healing, well-being, and recovery.
I probably don't need to tell you how powerful music can be. But can music be used more intentionally to induce healing? That's a resounding yes — the real trick is choosing the right tones and vibrations, in the right order, to get the brain and body to release all the stress, worry, and anxiety that gets stored in the cells.

Over the years I've curated an extensive collection of antique bowls and developed a unique process for healing using harmonies and melodies of the bowls along with breathing techniques, guided visualization and scientific energy healing processes to release deeply held stress in the brain, body, and energy.
And after many years of experimentation, I've been able to refine this process into a subtle art that guides the listener on a healing journey.

You don't have to take my word for it. Sound and music have been studied a lot more than most people realize — here's a sample of what the research actually shows.
¹ A 2020 review pooling 104 randomized trials found that music significantly reduced both the body's physical stress markers — heart rate, blood pressure, stress hormones — and people's felt stress. de Witte et al., 2020, Health Psychology Review
² In a 2023 randomized controlled trial, a single Tibetan singing-bowl session shifted the nervous system toward "rest and digest" and lowered anxiety more than progressive muscle relaxation or simply resting. Rio-Alamos et al., 2023, European Journal of Investigation in Health, Psychology and Education
³ A Cochrane review — the highest tier of medical evidence — found moderate-certainty evidence that listening to music improves sleep quality, raising sleep scores by close to a full standard deviation. Jespersen et al., 2022, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews
⁴ Across randomized trials, music and relaxation are linked to modest reductions in blood pressure — a real but gentle effect, which is why I say it may help rather than promising it will. Music and hypertension meta-analysis, 2016, BMC Cardiovascular Disorders
⁵ A Cochrane review found that adding music therapy to usual care produced meaningful short-term improvements in mood and reductions in anxiety. The singing-bowl trial above also measured significant drops in tension, anger, and low mood. Aalbers et al., 2017, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews
A note on all of this: sound healing is a complement to good medical care, never a replacement for it. If you're managing a health condition, please keep working with your doctor.
"Healing waves flooded my body — relaxed is an understatement. A floating feeling came over me, deep gratitude washed over me, and I just kept smiling with joy."

When COVID struck, I could only have a few people at a time in for in-person sound baths, so I got to tinkering in my studio — it's all very techy techy — but the end result is a beautifully balanced, rich sonic experience that can be beamed directly into your ears.
The free sound baths and guided meditations live on my YouTube channel, and the studio versions — with bonuses and remixes you won't find anywhere else — are on Bandcamp.
